The new B/RB/Hemi "Main Stud Girdle Kit" is designed to reduce "Capwalk" , stop block web flexing, cracking of the main caps and block webs. The Main Stud Girdle eliminates the need for expensive machining associated with aftermarket main caps in engines from 500-650Hp. This can be as much as a $1000.00 + when you consider the price of the steel / Aluminum main caps and complicated machine work needed to correctly install them. For those building engines over 650 HP, we can save you the additional money as well by eliminating the complicated machine work needed to install cross bolted main caps in your block. You can use standard aftermarket steel or aluminum main caps in conjunction with our new Main Stud Girdle Kit for the ultimate in bottom end Strength. This kit is a must if you are building a stroker package over 500 cubic inches with over 600 horsepower with a stock main cap! The new Mopar Main Stud Girdle comes as a kit including the precision cut main stud girdle, Custom ARP main studs, Hardened washers, custom shims, Stainless Steel pan studs, Stainless Steel pan nuts, Fel Pro pan gasket and full installation instructions. You can install this system with the engine in the car by simply dropping your oil pan.
Picture showing how shims are used to build up to the bottom of the girdle plate. This allows the "Frequency" to be transfered to the pan rails and block sides, dampening the vibrations
Since the rear (#5) main cap does not represent a capwalk problem, it retains the stock ARP main studs so the customer can use his stock oil pan with no modifications. The Rear holes allow clearance for these studs.
When you are building an expensive high horsepower engine, you don't want to shorten it's life by breaking a main web or cracking a center main cap. We have these Girdle systems running in 935 horsepower applications with very favorable results.
Girdle plate notched for "Dip Stick" Clearance
The Girdle plate is within .030" of the counter weights so it also acts a "Wiper" on the oil. You want a .030" minimun on all counterweights
The Girdle is notched with plenty of clearance for a 1/2" pickup tube with room for modified oiling systems.
Shown is a girdle system installed on a stroker package with a 4.500" crankshaft
Notice: Some want-a-be competitiors have copied our girdle system we originated . Sure they are selling it cheaper since they did not have any development costs! They do not even know how if works or why! Please do not patronize these crooks! Buy only the orginal!! Why buy some unproven girdle plate with-out any hardware???
