This style preloads the carrier bearings using adjusters on the sides of the Carrier bearings.
The pinion is preloaded by use of a "crush sleeve"
Pinion height is achieved by shimming.
Carrier-tube axle assembly - Carrier removable from the rear (Dana 9 3/4")
This style preloads the carrier using shims either behind the carrier bearing or between the case and the race.
Pinion height is achieved by shimming.
Pinion preload is achieved by shimming.
The Dana 60 was used starting in 1966 with 4 speed and other H.D. applications. From 1966 - 1969 the case was called "Power-Lok", from 1970 and up it is called "Trac-Lok". The early "Power-Loc" is much more desireable for racing and HD applications.
